Lee Ann Leahy to Receive 2024 Anchor Award from University of Hartford

West Hartford, CT (10/14/2024) — The University of Hartford is pleased to announce that Lee Ann Leahy '84, of Hilton Head, South Carolina, will receive the University's most prestigious alumni award this year.

Leahy, a graduate of UHart's Barney School of Business, is one of seven distinguished alumni to receive a 2024 Anchor Award. The Anchor Awards recognize alumni who have achieved the highest levels of professional and community accomplishments.

Leahy is being given the award of Distinguished Alum, recognizing an alum who embodies the highest caliber of personal and professional accomplishments, strength of character, and representation of University values.

Leahy spent more than three decades in public accounting, devoting much of that time to working with organizations of higher education. She retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where she spent her entire career, in 2018. Throughout her career and into her retirement, Leahy has demonstrated a commitment to volunteerism and helping not-for-profit organizations, serving on the boards of the Animal Rescue League of Boston and the American College of Greece. Currently, Leahy serves as treasurer for Sea Pines Community Service Associates, and donates handmade knitting and crochet yarn projects to those in need.

The Anchor Awards are stewarded by the Alumni Advisory Council, with nominations solicited from the full University community each year. This year's awards will be given on Friday, October 25, at the start of the UHart's annual Hawktober Weekend, which this year will feature the inauguration of University president Lawrence P. Ward.
