Antonio Javier Soler to Receive 2024 Anchor Award
West Hartford, CT (10/14/2024) — The University of Hartford is pleased to announce that Antonio Javier Soler '86, the chief commercial officer at Monster Beverage, will receive the University's most prestigious alumni award this year.
Soler is one of seven distinguished alumni to receive a 2024 Anchor Award. The Anchor Awards recognize alumni who have achieved the highest levels of professional and community accomplishments. Soler is being given the award of Outstanding Alum: Exceptional Professional Success.
Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Soler received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Hartford's Barney School of Business before embarking on a career as a sales representative for Procter & Gamble. He also has an Executive MBA from the University of Illinois.
At P&G, his strengths included sustainable and profitable growth, marketing strategies, customer and distribution management, and manufacturing and supply chain operations.
At Monster Beverage, the largest energy beverage corporation in the world, Soler works with a diverse group of professionals from many backgrounds and cultures, which he says is one of the most enjoyable parts of his career. Soler attributes the embracing of diversity as a way to become more judicious and accessible in business as in life.
In addition to his work, Soler was a member of the board of directors for the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, served as president of the Alcohol Beverage Industry Alliance, and many other similar activities. While his work is based in Miami, he and his family call Puerto Rico home.
The Anchor Awards are stewarded by the Alumni Advisory Council, with nominations solicited from the full University community each year. This year's awards will be given on Friday, October 25, at the start of the UHart's annual Hawktober Weekend, which this year will feature the inauguration of University president Lawrence P. Ward.
